International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
A celebrated British actress and model best known for her iconic role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, Emma Watson is a United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador for gender equality and women’s rights. Her passionate and powerful speech on gender equality was delivered at a special event for the United Nations HeForShe campaign. This initiative invites men and boys to stand in solidarity with women to create a bold, visible, and united force for gender equality.
